Who We Are
Farnam has a rich culture of employing people with a passion for horses. Let’s meet our team and hear about their favorite products.
Alyssa began her marketing career at Farnam in 2000 and currently manages the supplements business. She considers herself lucky to combine her passion for horses with her professional career and loves being a part of a company that makes a difference in the lives of horses and their people. Outside the office, Alyssa spends hours on end with her four horses. She is a lifelong dressage enthusiast, having attended the US Dressage Finals twice on her mare Daisy, and a small breeder of Hanoverian foals. She bred and raised Daisy and is continuing her performance career with her daughter Violet, and son Bravo.
What Alyssa keeps in stock at the barn:
Laser Sheen Dazzling Shine & Detangler
“ Laser Sheen RTU works great as a spray-on detangler and keeps my horses' tails looking full and flowing; however, it also works well to remove static and pull the dust/dirt off coats. I’m never without it for my black mare, Violet. ”
“ Mosquito Halt works wonders on flies, mosquitoes and gnats! It’s so hot in Arizona the flies come out early and stay late, so I need a fly spray that packs a punch and can provide relief for my horses. ”
Vetrolin White 'N Brite
“ White ‘N Brite Shampoo is a staple in my groom box for shows and home. I have multiple gray horses which love to be dirty and it even removes stubborn, embedded manure stains with ease. At shows, my mare always gets a double-take from spectators and other competitors with the comment, "Your horse is so white!” It really makes her shine and stand out in the arena. I also use it on my black mare to keep her coat dark and shiny. ”
Rhonda started her career at Farnam in 1984 and has held several positions. Currently, Rhonda is the Tradeshow Manager. She has competed in rodeos since she was 9, and actively does barrel racing and recently began mounted shooting! Apple is her 14-year-old Quarter Horse mare for barrels, and Sparky is a 12-year-old AQHA mare for shooting.
What Rhonda keeps in stock at the barn:
“ My favorite product is the Quietex II Focusing & Calming Pellets and Paste. My mare, Sparky, gets pretty amped up at a mounted shooting competition with all the music, loudspeakers and shooting going on. I start feeding her Quietex pellets a few days before the event and give her the paste the morning of the shoot to keep her relaxed and less nervous all day. The calmer she runs, the better I can aim! ”
Julie started with Farnam in 2018 and is currently the Marketing Manager for the grooming, wound, leather care and deworming businesses. She attended Central Michigan University and majored in Marketing and Advertising. Throughout her career, she’s gained experience in a variety of different industries; however her lifelong love of horses collided with her professional experience when she came to work for Farnam. Julie was born and raised on a farm in Akron, Michigan. She now resides in Cave Creek, Arizona, with her husband, Jerry. Julie shows her horse, Movin the Chains, in the AQHA Western All-Around events under the guidance of her trainers Ryan and Andrea Kail.

Laser Sheen Dazzling Shine & Detangler
“ If I want to shine and detangle my horse's mane and tail, I instantly grab the Laser Sheen Dazzling Shine & Detangler spray. This product helps minimize hair breakage and delivers dirt-repelling shine that lasts up to seven days. You can use it on the coat, mane or tail and it helps to cut grooming time in half. ”
Vetrolin Green Spot Out
“ Green Spot Out - Vetrolin Green Spot Out is one of my favorite products because it is so much more than a green spot remover. It can be used as a dry shampoo to remove sweat stains, saddle marks or any other spots that might appear on your horse. It dries quickly and brushes out to deliver a high-gloss shine. ”
