New World Screwworm 2(ee) Recommendations

Farnam® 2(ee) Recommendations Available to Aid in New World Screwworm Prevention

Product-specific 2(ee) recommendations are now available for nine Farnam® fly control products in seven states.

New World Screwworm (NWS) poses a concern for horse owners in affected areas, increasing the need for tools that can aid in prevention. To address this need, Section 2(ee) recommendations under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) are available for several Farnam fly control products.

Where the Recommendations Apply

These recommendations allow the products to be used according to their existing label directions to aid in the prevention of New World Screwworm on horses in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

What Horse Owners Need to Know

Each recommendation works alongside the product’s existing EPA-registered container label and does not change its application directions. Customers using one of these products for this purpose must follow the container label and have the corresponding 2(ee) recommendation in their possession at the time of application.

Farnam is committed to providing horse owners, retailers and equine professionals with clear product information as the NWS situation evolves. We will continue to monitor the NWS situation and share updates as additional information and guidance become available.
